sun.store is Europe's B2B marketplace for solar and energy-storage equipment. Installers, distributors and wholesalers across the EU use it to buy and sell PV modules, inverters, batteries and more.
Position: Head of Growth
About the role:
As Head of Growth you own how sun.store grows: more active buyers and suppliers, more transactions, more GMV, across European markets. You set the growth strategy and targets, decide where to invest, and build the team and systems that deliver them.
This is a leadership role with a hands-on attitude. You work directly with the leadership team, product, sales and the marketplace team, and you are accountable for growth results, not channel metrics. Hybrid, Warsaw office.
What you'll own:
- Growth strategy and targets. Set the growth model for a two-sided marketplace: which markets, segments and levers come first, with targets for GMV, active buyers, new suppliers, CAC, LTV and payback. Decide how the growth budget is split across channels and initiatives.
- Acquisition. Own the acquisition strategy across paid, brand, SEO, partnerships and outbound support for sales. You lead the Performance Marketing Lead, who runs paid channels hands-on.
- Activation and conversion. Work with product on onboarding, sign-up and first-transaction funnels. Find where users drop off and fix it through product changes, CRO and experiments.
- Retention and repeat purchases. Turn first-time buyers into regular customers through lifecycle and CRM programmes, reactivation and account-based plays for key accounts.
- Supply growth and liquidity. Grow the number and quality of active suppliers and offers, and keep supply and demand balanced in each market.
- Market expansion. Build go-to-market plans for new EU countries and segments, and decide when a market is ready to scale.
- Experimentation and analytics. Run one experimentation process across the funnel. Own growth dashboards and cohort analysis, and tell leadership clearly what works, what does not and why.
- AI-first growth. Use AI tools, MCP servers and automation to scale analysis and output without scaling headcount at the same rate.
- Seniority and scope.
This role is:
- Accountable for company growth results (GMV, active users, new suppliers), not for a single channel.
- A team builder: you lead the Performance Marketing Lead from day one and grow the team as the business scales.
- A strategic partner to the leadership team, product and sales, with a say in roadmap and budget allocation.
- Hands-on with data: you read the numbers yourself and can challenge any channel owner.
This role is not:
- A paid ads specialist. You must understand Google and Meta deeply, but you do not run the accounts day to day.
- A brand or communications role. Brand and content serve acquisition here.
What you bring:
- 8+ years in growth, performance or digital marketing, including 3+ years leading growth or a team, ideally at a marketplace, e-commerce or B2B platform.
- A track record of growing a business, not just a channel: you can show the GMV, revenue or user numbers you moved and how.
- Experience with two-sided marketplaces and balancing supply and demand.
- Deep understanding of unit economics: LTV:CAC, contribution margin, payback, cohorts. You can build the growth model and defend it to the board.
- Strong command of acquisition channels. You know Google and Meta well enough to set direction and challenge specialists.
- Experience improving activation and retention with product teams, through onboarding, CRO, lifecycle and CRM.
- Strong analytical skills: funnels, cohorts, experimentation, comfort with SQL or BI tools.
- An AI-first way of working, including MCP servers or similar to connect AI with data and tools.
- Experience hiring and leading people.
- English C1+. German, Dutch or French is a plus.
